Family background

Hector Irwin Knowles was born c1898 in Gisborne, New Zealand, son of Francis Knowles and Elizabeth Irwin. He married Lucinda Ethel Curtis (1905-1976) on 31 March 1938 in Redfern, NSW and they had a daughter. Knowles died on 31 August 1972, late of Rosebery, aged 73 years and he was cremated at the Eastern Suburbs Crematorium. He lived at 19 Trevelyan Avenue, Rosebery (1949).
