Family background

Thomas William McMillan was born 12 October 1913 at Redfern, NSW, the son of Thomas Tasman McMillan and Leah Jane Wilson. He married (1) Eleanor Ruth Moreton (1913-48) 21 July 1934 at Sydney, and they had one son and three daughters. He married (2) Inez Marguerite Kendrick 28 July 1945 at Newtown, NSW, and they had one son. McMillan died 17 July 1973 at Tamworth Base Hospital, aged 59 years, late of Linden, NSW, and he was interred in the Springwood Cemetery. He lived at 112 Rose Street, Darlington.

Occupation & interests

Thomas McMillan was a milk vendor and publican. He held the licence for the Royal Standard Hotel, Cleveland Street, Redfern, in 1943. In 1944 he was fined £5 by the Licensing Court for failing to keep the hotel bars open between 2 and 6pm.

Thomas William McMillan was an alderman on Darlington Council in 1942-48.
