Family background

Augustus Fewings was born in 1871 at Newtown, NSW, the son of John Henry Fewings and Margaret Roberts. He married Edith Emily Harrison 28 March 1899 at St Barnabas Church, Sydney, and they had two sons and a daughter. Fewings died 31 December 1925, aged 52 years, at Newtown, NSW, and he was interred in the Anglican Section of Rookwood Cemetery. He left a Will and his estate and assets were valued at £5,102. Augustus Fewings lived in 29 Shepherd Street, Darlington.

Occupation & interests

Augustus Fewings was the Proprietor of the Darlington Art Mantel Works in Rose Street, Darlington.

Local government service

Augustus Fewings was an alderman on Darlington Council in 1914-16.
