Family background

Margaret Grace Schwebel (nee Thompson) was born in 1916. She and her four sisters grew up on Fitzroy Street, Newtown, in a boarding house that was run by her mother. She was married to Bill Schwebel in 1935.

Grace Schwebel was involved with the Miscellaneous Workers Union.

Grace Schwebel was an alderman on Northcott / South Sydney Council in 1974-77.
