Family background

The birth of Herbert Arthur Parker was registered at Orange in 1870. Parker died at Little Bay on 2 October 1938, at which time he was living at ‘Parkville’, Dacre Street, Malabar. He does not appear to have married. He was buried in the Roman Catholic section, Rookwood cemetery.

Occupation & interests

Herbert (or Henry) Parker was a produce merchant. In January 1917, he purchased a produce store on King Street, which he ran until he died in 1938. Parker owned real estate worth over £2,700 by the time of his death.

Community activity

He was appointed a Justice of the Peace (JP) in January 1920.

Local government service

Herbert Arthur Parker was an alderman on Erskineville Council in 1917-22, representing South Ward.
