John Aulsebrook was born on 6 October 1862 in Christchurch, New Zealand. He was married on 17 October 1882 in Christchurch to Helen Mary Taylor (1862-1943). They had five daughters and two sons. John Aulsebrook died 8 June 1943 at Rozelle, aged 80 years.

Occupation & interests

John Aulsebrook established Aulsebrook & Son biscuit factory in Lyons Street Camperdown in 1890 of which he was managing director. By 1907 he was the largest employer of local labour.

Local government service

John Aulsebrook was an alderman for Camperdown Council, representing the Belmore Ward, in 1908.
