Family background

Thomas Percival Kingston Arthur was born 20 May 1895 at Redfern, NSW, the son of Thomas James Arthur and Frances Anne Harriet Burgess. He married Winifred Kate Harding (1895-1938) 12 April 1919 at St Peters, NSW, and they had three sons. Thomas Percival Kingston Arthur died 19 April 1973 at Hornsby, NSW, formally of Woollahra. Thomas Percival Kingston Arthur lived at 199 Edgecliff Road, Woollahra.

Occupation & interests

Thomas Arthur was the Managing Director of T J Arthur & Sons, manufacturers of sash and door frames that were based at 53 City Road, Darlington.

Local government service

Thomas Percival Kingston Arthur was an alderman on Darlington Council for two terms in 1926-28 and from 1932 until 1947, when he resigned. He was deputy mayor in 1940. Arthur was nominated as a candidate for the 1941 Newtown elections
