William Robinson was a member and Master of the Masonic Lodge Star of Australia, a member of the Heart if Oak Druids lodge plus a member of the Mark and Royal Arch Chapters. He was also a justice of the peace (JP).

Local government service

William Robinson was an alderman on Erskineville Council in 1895-1916, representing North Ward. He was mayor in 1902-07 and 1914-16.
