Family background
Charles William Bloomfield was born in Sydney in 1834 to Dr Charles Bloomfield and his wife Eliza. He married Margaret Taylor, in Sydney on 27 March 1860. He lived in Erskineville Road. Bloomfield died at his residence ‘Melrose’, Renwick Street, Marrickville on 4 August 1907. He was buried in the Anglican cemetery, Rookwood.

Charles Bloomfield acted as auditor of the Civil Service Building Society during the 1880s.
Local government service
Charles William Bloomfield was an alderman on Macdonaldtown (Erskineville) Council in 1883-87.
