Family background

Charles Henry Harding McIntyre Parker was born 20 March 1895 at Sydney, the son of Henry Hardy Parker and Rebecca Sarah Maria Meer. He married (1) Mary Maud Luxton (1892-1934) on 27 August 1920 at Newtown, NSW. He married (2) Clarissa Smith on 27 July 1946 at Newtown, NSW. Charles Parker died at Merrylands, NSW, on 13 September 1968, aged 73 years; he was cremated at Rookwood Crematorium. Parker lived at 40 Brown Street, Erskineville.

Occupation & interests

Charles Parker was representative of post-war Alexandria aldermen who were self employed and conservative in outlook, a guardian of the status quo.

Charles Parker was an alderman on Alexandria Council 1926-28 representing East Ward.
