John Osborne was the son of William Osborne and his wife Jane. He died 22 April 1896 and was buried at Waverley Cemetery. He left a Will and his estate and assets were assessed at £1,150. Osborne and his wife Sarah lived in Boundary Street, Alexandria

Occupation & interests

John Osborne a proprietor and agent. He was a Freemason and a member of the Royal Alfred Lodge. As a long term alderman in the embryonic community in Alexandria, he gained influence, respectability and a good measure of social recognition.
