Matthew William Powell was born c1868 and he married Annie Hannah (1881-1929) on 18 December 1895 at Redfern, NSW, and they had a son and a daughter. Powell lived off Euston Road, Alexandria.

Occupation & interests

In 1913, Powell was charged with wife desertion. It was thought that he had gone to the Kyogle or Casino district.

Local government service

Matthew Powell was an alderman on Alexandria Council 1905-07 representing the South Ward.
