Family background

Patrick Joseph Doyle was born on 25 March 1893 at Killarney, Kerry, Ireland, the son of Jeremiah Doyle and Katie Sweeney. He married Eileen Margaret Doyle (1860-1972) at Woollahra, NSW, on 15 December 1920, and they had four sons and three daughters. Doyle died at Burwood, NSW on 13 February 1967, aged 73 years; he was buried in the Roman Catholic section of Botany Cemetery. Doyle lived at 8 Henderson Road, Alexandria.

Patrick Doyle was a member of the Paddington-Woollahra RSL.

Community activity

Doyle enlisted in the AIF on the 24 January 1916 and was discharged 25 February 1920.

Local government service

Patrick Joseph Doyle was an alderman on Alexandria Council 1911-13 representing the South Ward.
