Family background

William Leo Allen was born 14 May 1852 at Hobart, Tasmania, the son of John Allen and Mary Anne Butler. He married (1) Hannah Booth (1856-93) on 5 October 1877 at Waterloo, NSW, and they had one son and four daughters. He married (2) Elizabeth Ann Goldfinch (1867-1943) on 6 April 1909 at Sydney and they had three sons and two daughters. Allen died at Waterfall, NSW on the 13 October 1912, aged 60 years; he was buried at Rookwood Cemetery. He left no Will and lived at Queen Street, Alexandria.
