Family background

Alexander Archibald Spence was born in Bega, NSW, on 19 August 1875, son of Archibald Spence and Elizabeth Kerrigan. He lived in Gardeners Road, Rosebery at the time of his death on 8 March 1957 and he was buried at Bega. He was married to Grace M Hayes (1867-1946) at Bega in 1903 and they had a son and a daughter.

Local government service

Alexander Archibald Spence was an alderman on Waterloo Council 1917-19, representing South Ward. He retired 22 January 1919.
