Family background
Anthony James Leber was born on 1 July 1869 at Melbourne, Victoria, the son of John Leber and Mary Connor. He married Margaret Isabella McEvoy (1868-1942) on 17 February 1890 at Sydney, NSW and they had two sons and three daughters. Leber died at Sydney, on 24 January 1949, aged 79 years; he was buried at Woronora Cemetery in the Roman catholic section. He left no Will. Leber lived at Gerard Street, Alexandria.

Anthony Leber was an alderman on the Alexandria Council for two terms representing the West Ward: 1908-10 and 1912-13.
