Family background
Henry Albert Wood was born about 1840, the son of John and Mary Wood. He moved to Erskineville in the early 1890s. Wood lived at 37 Erskineville Road. He died at his home on 25 December 1921 aged 81, survived by his widow Ann and three living children.
Occupation & interests
Wood was a hat manufacturer, specialising in straw hats. In 1896, the Sands Directory listed H A Wood and Sons, hatters, at 37 Erskineville Road.
Local government service
Henry Albert Wood was an alderman on Erskineville Council in 1903-10, representing Middle Ward.
