Family background

John P Archibald was born in Fifeshire, Scotland and came to Australia at 18. He lived in ‘Cromer’ at 320 Edgeware Road. He married Sarah Lee in 1883. She died in 1905 and he married for a second time to Olive Fortescue in 1908. She and several of his children survived him.

Community activity

John P Archibald was a member of the Heart of Oak Lodge, No. 94, UAOD.

Local government service

John P Archibald was an alderman on Newtown Council in 1902-04, representing Camden Ward.
