John Muir was born in Scotland in 1835. arrived in Sydney in 1857. He was married to Mary (1844-1915). He died on 7 August 1914, aged 79 years.
Community activity
Muir was president of Camperdown Ratepayers Association in 1892.
Local government service
John Muir was an alderman on Camperdown Council 1895-1907. In 1895, Muir was one of the council members considering whether to install a new garbage destruction machine.
