Family background

Percival Plant Smith was born in 1889 at Broken Hill, the son of Charles F and Catherine Maude Smith. In 1945 at Sydney he married Gladys Augusta Rugg. He died at St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst, on 4 February 1981, aged 93, and was buried at Botany General Cemetery.

Occupation & interests

Percival Plant Smith enlisted for the First World War in Sydney about 1914. He was an estate agent. At the time of his death, he lived at Earl Place, Springfield Avenue, Kings Cross.

Local government service

Percy Smith was Alderman for Fitzroy Ward, 4 December 1948 to 1 December 1950. He was a member of the Works Committee and the Finance Committee from 1949 to 1950.
