Family background

Royden Leigh Cuthbertson was born in Hobart; his father served on Hobart Council. Royden Cuthbertson died in Tamworth where he had played a prominent part in public affairs in 1949.

Cuthbertson was an assistant manager of the Newtown Leagues football team.

Royden Cuthbertson was an alderman on Newtown Council in 1917-20, representing O’Connell Ward. He resigned from council on 27 November 1920.
