Family background

Alexander Donald was born in Scotland in 1855. He was married twice. His first marriage was in 1891 at Glebe to Isabella McCubben (1868-1903). His second marriage was in 1904 at Sydney. He had three daughters and two sons of both marriages.

Local government service

Alexander Donald was an alderman on Camperdown Council in 1908. Donald stressed that Camperdown Council should endeavour to improve the condition of Parramatta Road before they amalgamate with the City Council at the end of 1908.
