Alfred Bignell was born in 1874 in Camperdown. His father was Alfred (1840-1922) and mother was Lucy (1851-1943). He was unmarried and died aged 26 at Katoomba.
Occupation & interests
Alfred Bignell worked for his father’s firm of Bignell & Clark, Campedown building contractors, which included Camperdown Steam Joinery at 132 George Street Camperdown. It was alleged that smoke, smell and noise from the joinery constituted a nuisance.
Community activity
Bignell was a member of the NSW Lancers.
Local government service
Alfred Bignell was an alderman on Camperdown Council in 1899.
