Family background

Arthur Devlin was born on 23 November 1864 in Armidale, NSW, son of Michael Devlin and Amelia. He married Amy Rosabelle Seers (1869-1965) on 20 November 1901 in Waterloo, NSW. There were three children, Harold, Arthur and Doris. Devlin died on 25 June 1952 at his residence, 258 New Canterbury Road, Petersham, aged 86 years and was cremated at Rookwood Crematorium. He lived at 75 Phillip Street, Waterloo and 5 Vesey Street, Waterloo.

Community activity

Arthur Devlin was a justice of the peace (JP). He was president of the Waterloo branch of the Political Labor League in 1913 and 1914.

Local government service

Arthur Devlin was an alderman on Waterloo Council in 1913-16 representing North Ward.
