Family background

Harold Norman (Tibby) Elvy was born 4 August 1918 at Sydney, NSW, the son of Arthur Selwyn Elvy and Mary Florence Fisk. He married Lorna Jean Warton (1920-2010) 5 April 1941 at Five Dock, NSW. Harold Elvy died 2 November 1989, aged 71 years, late of Terrigal, NSW, and he was interred at Palmdale Lawn Cemetery. Harold Norman Elvy lived at 33 Great North Road, Abbotsford, NSW.

Occupation & interests

Elvy’s family butcher shop was run by the family for three generations; the building was demolished in 1971 to make way for the expansion of Sydney University.

Local government service

Harold Norman Elvy was an alderman on Darlington Council in 1947-48. His grandfather William, father Arthur and uncle Albert were also aldermen on Darlington Council.
