Family background

Henry Hamilton Maze was born 1861 at Chippendale, NSW, the son of Robert Maze and his wife Margaret. He married Louisa Jane Beaumont (1869-1952) on 8 August 1894 at ‘The Glen’ Mittagong, NSW, and they had one son and two daughters. Henry Maze died 4 December 1938, aged 74 years, late of ‘The Pines’ Ingleburn, NSW, and he was cremated at Rookwood Crematorium. He left no Will.  Maze also lived at Bowen Road, Kogarah.

Occupation & interests

Maze was a wharf proprietor. He was declared bankrupt in 1894.

Community activity

Henry Hamilton Maze was a Trustee for the Presbyterian Church in respect of property belonging to the Congregation at Glenfield. He was the President of the Ingleburn Tennis Club for many years and a member of the Ingleburn Band. His father Robert Maze was also an alderman and mayor of Darlington Council in 1865-75.

Local government service

Henry Hamilton Maze was an alderman on Darlington Council in 1890-94. He resigned in 1894.
