Family background

James Jackson was born in c1832 in England. He married Mary Pike (1836-1882) at Sydney on 3 May 1859 and they had 3 sons and 2 daughters. He lived at 151 Walker Street, Redfern. Jackson died on 12 June 1911 at Redfern, aged 80 years, and was buried in the Anglican section of Rookwood Cemetery. He left a will and his estate and assets were assessed at £250.

James Jackson was a self-employed bootmaker in Walker Street, Redfern.

Community activity

James Jackson was a justice of the peace (JP). He was the patron of the Redfern Bowling Club in 1901.
