John Power was a Member of the NSW Legislative Council in 1921-24. He was also a Senator in the Federal Parliament in 1924-25.

Local government service

John Power was an alderman on Paddington Council from 1914-22. He was Paddington Mayor in 1918. Power was elected to the NSW Legislative Assembly on 30 August 1921, and failed to attend council meetings through 1922. Paddington Council was permitted to leave the vacancy unfilled until the December 1922 elections.
