John Reddy kept the Woolloomooloo Inn on William Street (also known as the Woolloomooloo Hotel) in the 1850s. A John Reddy was also a building contractor in the 1850s and 1860s.

John Reddy was an alderman on Paddington Council in 1860-62 and 1873-79; he was mayor in 1874 and 1875.
