Family background

Reuben Herrod was baptised on 7 September 1806 in Farndon, Nottinghamshire, England. Son of Francis Herrod and Ann. He married Sarah Baylis (1814-1890) 20 October 1843 at St Luke’s Church of England, Liverpool, NSW and there was at least 1 son. Rueben Herrod died on 29 September 1879 at his residence ‘Farndon Place’ in Wellington Street, Waterloo, NSW, aged 73 years and he was buried in the Old Wesleyan Section of Rookwood Cemetery. He left a Will and his estate and assets were assessed at £100. Rueben Herrod lived at 34 Wellington Street, Waterloo.
