Family background

William Woolley was born in Liverpool, England on 3 September 1831, son of John Woolley and Ellen Ball, and arrived in Melbourne with two brothers in 1852 by the vessel ’Birmingham’. He lived in Bullanaming Street, Waterloo. William Woolley died at the Coast Hospital, Little Bay in 1911. He left a Will and his estate and assets were assessed at £25. He was married to Elizabeth Bridget O’Farrell (1843-1894) on 20 August 1858 in Victoria.
